Quick Update

SORRY! I know that I am the biggest slacker in the blogging community, but I have a good reason to be. My camera is BROKEN! I am only taking pictures on my phone lately and that just doesn't seem to cut it for the blog. So again, I apologize. I do try to post the pictures I have been taking with my phone on my facebook, so all you facebook friends, you are still getting to see our lovely faces. :)

I will fill you all in on some of the stuff going on in our lives, though most of you know what we are up to most of the time anyway. (thanks facebook) I have gone back to work part time for my father inlaws insurance agency. It has been nice to be able to get out and be in the "real world" again, but I do miss being home with my boys so much. I am at work while David is at school, so he hardly notices the change at all. Spencer on the other hand is spending 2 days a week with his grandma and the other 2 with his daddy. (I only work 4 days a week, if you didn't get that from the simple math in that sentence.) He occasionally spends a random day with my sister inlaw and I am sure eventually my sister. He is such a big mommas boy that I thought he would have a hard time adjusting to my being gone, but he is doing pretty well! He always starts his day with telling me that he doesn't want me to leave him, but he gets over it pretty quickly. Although, I do receive the occasional phone call and message now that he has memorized my cell number and figured out how to use the house phone.

Chad has gone back to school to be a pharmacist and is managing and coaching David's travelling club ball team. That along with working full time, he is constantly busy. Since he works graveyard, he gets very little sleep and tries to fit a nap in when he can. He is always in a good mood and never complains. He is absolutely amazing and I don't know how he does it. Chad is a super hero in my eyes. (minus the tights)

David, like I already said, is playing club ball. He currently plays 3rd base and he is pretty awesome at it. He absolutely LOVES baseball! He just finished up his fall ball season for Western Little League, where his team, the Blue Jays, took home the championship trophy. They went the whole season undefeated! David was the only 7 year old on the team, playing with 9 and 10 year olds. As I said, he is really good at baseball and it shows in his playing. He has a real passion for the game. We love travelling with his team for different tournaments. All the families on the team are really great and we have made some really awesome friends. On top of being a fantastic ball player, David is doing great in school. He just got his report card last week and brought home straight A's! He is an awesome kid and we are so proud of the little man he is becoming!

Spencer is our lovable little goofball. He loves clowning around and making people laugh. (he's good at it too!) He constantly has us rolling laughing with some of the things that come out of his mouth. He is so full of life, he is constantly going. The boy never slows down or stops. He is moving even when he is watching tv. He has a little six pack on his abs because he never stops. He too just finished his fall ball season for little league. He was playing tball for the Padres. He is actually starting to get the hang of it and is showing some real potential. He is doing really well in his pre-k class at Lamb of God. His teachers love him and say that he is above his level and picks things up quickly. We also found out from talking to his teacher that he quite popular! She said that kids literally fight over who gets to sit next to him and play with him on the playground. This doesn't surprise me at all since he is so charismatic! He is such a great little guy and we just adore him!

So that's it for now. Again, I am sorry that I don't have any pictures to post currently. Hopefully I can go myself a camera sometime soon and then I will hopefully be back in the blogging game. (one can hope, right?) I am just sad that I am not able to take some real pictures during the holidays! (not that my camera doesn't take "real" pictures, but you know what I mean) Be sure to keep up with me on facebook and you can see pictures of what we are doing! (mostly just the boys, but it's hard to be in pictures you are taking with your little phone)

Cousins!

My sister and her family moved back to Vegas 4 months ago and we couldn't be more thrilled! Not only do I have my best friend back in the same city (and about 2 minutes away) but the kids have all their cousins! It has been a lot of fun this summer watching them build close relationships with their cousins that they used to see maybe once a year. We have had kids born almost every year since David was born, so they are all pretty close in age. (except for Anthony and Raelyn who were the only grandkids on my side for quite a while) Here are just a couple of pictures from the summer!

Welcome home Villa family!!

School Days

Yes, we are almost a month into the school year, but I wanted to get pictures of the boys on their first days up before Christmas ;)
Spencer started Pre-K at Lamb of God a week before David started the 2nd grade at Tarr. They are both LOVING school so far! Spencer is really happy to be back with his best friends from last year! David didn't know too many of the kids that were in his class this year, but he hasn't had a problem making new friends.

Better late than never, right?!?

Ball Player

David has been keeping extremely busy (which means, we are extremely busy) playing baseball. He currently plays on two teams, the Stealth and the Blue Jays. Currently he has been playing 3rd base, pitcher and outfield. He absolutely LOVES everything about baseball. He wakes up in the morning and turns on baseball or ESPN. (yes, he is only 7) He loves studying plays and practicing as much as possible. When we go to the library, he checks out stacks of baseball books. If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up, you guessed it, he wants to play in the majors. (specifically for the Dodgers, but I am sure he would just be happy to play) Since he loves baseball so much, Chad and I have gotten more involved. Chad coaches for both teams and is the GM for the Stealth, our travelling club ball team. I have taken a board position with Western Little League as 'Team Mom Coordinator'. Between meetings, practices and games, we have baseball almost everyday. Spencer's season hasn't even started yet, so we will just be getting busier in the coming months. I promise I will try to post more pictures of the boys playing baseball (and whatever else we are doing) when I find the time. If anyone wants to come by and watch a game, call me and I will let you know the schedules. =)

(these pictures were all taken during scrimmages. I will post some pics soon of him in his actual uniforms!)

No More Training Wheels!

Spencer is now riding his bike without training wheels! It took him less than an hour to learn and now there is no stopping him!

Spencer's Game Ball

We put Spencer in t-ball for the first time this year and he is loving it! He likes this so much better than soccer! He is the youngest player on his team and has a hard time focusing sometimes, but he really is doing well. Last week he was awarded the "Game Ball" for doing well during the game. He was so incredibly happy, he called everyone to brag. =)

(this picture below is his mean baseball face. How cute is he!?!)

Fair Fun!!

Last Friday Chad and I decided to surprise the boys with a last minute day trip to the county fair in Logandale. The boys and I went last year with my mom, but this was Chad's first time. We all had so much fun that we have officially decided to make this an annual thing. It's always fun to add a new tradition!!!

Easter Weekend

As it is with every holiday, we had a very busy Easter weekend. It all started with coloring Easter eggs as a family! Spencer ended up coloring most of them because he wasn't too interested in how they actually looked. Daddy and David took their time to decorate, but by the time they got through 6 or so, Spencer had finished the rest!!

Saturday afternoon we had the annual Corbett Easter picnic. Food, family and lots of fun!! Everyone had a great time! (especially the kids! They got their first egg hunt and scored lots of candy and a little $)

Sunday morning, the kids were extremely anxious to have their second egg hunt, where they got some more candy, small gifts and $$!

Sunday afternoon we went to grandma and papa's house for lunch and Easter egg hunt #3. Do I really need to mention how much fun they had?! Both of the kids found golden eggs, David physically dove for the one he found!!

Sunday evening we went over to my moms for Easter dinner and the boys 4th and FINAL Easter egg hunt. (sadly I didn't get very many pictures) Again they made out like little bandits! Seriously, these two boys are so stinkin spoiled!!

All in all it was a busy but FABULOUS Easter!!

Let's Play Dress Up

Okay, so I don't really get to say that because I have boys, but these two goofballs do enjoy switching it up a bit every now and then =) I sure love these handsome weirdos!

David was Percy Jackson (the one in the book, not so much the one in the movie. The movie lacked the Camp Half-Blood shirt) It was dress up like your favorite character from a book. Spencer just wanted a shirt too, so I made him one. =)

This was Spencer's miss match day. He enjoyed looking like a break dancin' gang banger from the 80's

Crazy Hair Day! We were going to shave his head anyway, so he got a mohawk for a week ;)

This is what Spencer decided to spend his Easter money on. He LOVES costumes! Let me correct that, he LOVES SUPERHERO costumes!

Spence man got a little out of control with the soap foam he got. He used it all in one sitting!
