One Fun Sunday!

Today was a really good day! At church we got to see Spencer graduate from the nursery. (I am feeling major anxiety about Spencer being a sunbeam!) This was one of the cutest things to watch, ever! He did so good with the whole thing and we are so proud of him!! And yes, that is one of daddy's church shirts he is wearing for his "graduation gown".)

This is picture of Spencer with Bishop Creer.

Tonight the boys and I went with my mom to the 'Gift of Lights' at Sunset park. All of the lights were so pretty and the boys really enjoyed it! I took a couple of pictures, but they obviously don't do it any justice. After we left there, I took the boys to an empty office parking lot. We got out so the planes that were landing would fly right over our heads. David said that it was the best night of his life and he couldn't wait to get back to school so he could write about it in his journal. =)

Oh! And Chad won his fantasy football league!! Congrats baby!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Yesterday we got our Christmas tree! We had a lot of fun last night decorating it with the kids. It is amazing to watch the excitement of it all through their eyes! And I love love love having a Christmas tree in the house! It smells so good and it really starts to feel like Christmas!

Then today, to make it feel even more like Christmas, it SNOWED! Yes, that's right, it snowed in Vegas! The last time it snowed like this here was when David was 1 year old! So the snow was a whole new experience for both of our boys! They LOVE it! As soon as I got home from work, I dressed them warmly and took them out back to play for 10 minutes! Since we live in Vegas, we have no need for snow clothes. So therefore, we don't own any. 10 minutes was more than sufficient to play and freeze our tushies off!

White Elephant

Tonight I had my mom, my girl cousins, and one of my aunts over for a little "white elephant" holiday get together. We sat around and ate, talked and did lots of laughing. We also had a $5 white elephant gift exchange game that included burnt cookies, self portraits and other random gifts. It was really a lot of fun!! I love my family and I love that we all live so close to each other. (Sorry sister, I wish you lived closer!! We missed you!) The kids all had a ton of fun also, running around like the little maniacs that they are =). My family gets together all the time, but it's always a little extra fun when just the girls get together =)

My cousins Lauren and Karisa with the kiddies

the kids (aren't they all so cute?!?)

Spencer and my cousin's son Madden (Spencer LOVES babies! But if you ask him if mommy should have another baby he will tell you no. He says he is the baby)

My Heroes

Chad and I were doing some major cleaning and came across the boys old Halloween costumes. Being the kind of people that LOVE to get rid of things, I put them in a bag and set them aside to send to my sisters kids. Well needless to say, the boys found the bag and they have been in costume (and character) since. I heard Spencer today telling David (Batman) that he smelled the Joker. Not really sure what the Joker smells like, but apparently my kids know. Spencer has been so happy because all he wanted for Christmas was costumes. No matter how many times he was asked, his response to, "what do you want for Christmas?" was, "Costumes!". So Christmas has come early for our little hero!

Honestly, it is never a dull moment around here! These two clowns are so much fun!

notice if you will, the tightness, not to mention the shortness, of David's Batman costume. These were their costumes in 2006!

Super Cool

Spencer has developed an extreme love for his red cape. He puts it on every morning and pretends he is Batman or some other superhero. He wears it to pick David up from school and would probably even wear it to church if we let him. He has told us that all he wants for Christmas is more costumes. I can just see him with capes in every color, coordinating them with his outfits =) But I think he is the cutest little hero and you have to admit, he looks SUPER cool. (no sarcasm, really...lol)

So Thankful!

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I thought I would list a few things that I am thankful for. What better time to list my blessings than the holidays? So here we go...
  • First and foremost, I am thankful for my wonderful, loving, smart, funny, and amazingly handsome husband. I couldn't have chosen a better partner to spend forever with. He is my best friend and I truly love him with my whole being.

  • I am extremely thankful for my two little boys. They are my sunshine! They make me laugh everyday, and amaze me constantly with how smart they are. I am so blessed to be their mom.

  • I am thankful for my family. My mom is one of my best friends. She can be crazy, (it's okay mom, I had to get it from somewhere, right?) but I know that she loves me and my family. I know that she will always be there for me, no matter what. I have great brothers that I know I can turn to if ever I need them.

  • I am thankful for my sister. I can't get through a day without talking to her at least once. We lean on each other and know that the other will always be there.

  • I am thankful Chad's family. His parents are wonderful to us! They have always been there for us and have helped us through so much. His brothers are fantastic uncles to the boys. This family is such a close knit family, I am so lucky to be a part of it!

  • I am thankful for good friends. I have some great friends! These are the kind of friends that you know that no matter what happens in your life, you will always be friends. (you all know who you are)

  • I am thankful for jobs! Right now especially, I am so thankful that Chad and I have good jobs! I am thankful that we have a roof over our heads and can support our family.

  • Last but definitely not least, I am thankful for the church. Chad and I are really seeing the blessings in our lives since we have gone back to church. We can see how much closer it has brought us together as a couple and the good it has done for our children. They love going to church and even fight over who gets to say prayers. I love the gospel and feel really blessed to have it in our lives.

There is really so much more that I am thankful for, but I thought I would just touch on the major things. I truly do have a blessed life and wouldn't trade any part of it for anything.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Another Season Down

We are officially done with the soccer season. Now we get a few months to rest before we start t-ball again. It was a good season for David, he loves playing soccer and it shows. The team celebrated their season at Bounce U, which I have to admit was a lot of fun for all of us! Chad and I had a pretty intense race. =) Chad won, but received a couple battle wounds in the process. Anyway, David was very excited to be able to add another trophy to his growing collection. I am going to miss watching my little man, out on the field, running his heart out. But I am going to enjoy the break from practices and early games!!

He's A Big Boy Now!

Spencer is officially potty trained! He has had 2 straight nights of staying dry in his big boy underwear. He gets up all by himself in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom! He could very well have pulled this off a little sooner, but I was afraid. I kept putting him in a pull-up at bed time because I didn't want to deal with potential accidents. But pull-ups are practically diapers, and Spencer knew that. If he had them on, he would use them as diapers. When he is in underwear, he is fine. Yes, he has had the occasional accident during the day, but we are pretty much past all of that. He wears underwear 100% of the time. He is even fine when we are out running errands. We are so excited and proud of our baby! And I just have to say...No more diapers for the Corbett family!

Crazy Hair

My boys love bath time! They also love AFTER bath time =) They think it is okay to act like little maniacs and run around the house, singing a song they made up, titled 'Naked Time'. Actually it is more of just running around repeating, "it's naked, it's naked, naked time" But seeing as I am not going to post pictures of my boys little tushies, I am posting pictures of them fully clothed with spiky hair. They love to have me give them crazy hair. ( it isn't really crazy, I know. But to them and their normal hair do, this is wacky) So here are some pictures of my clean, little, post bath rock stars. Cute huh!?!

Halloween 2008

We started our night out at a family Halloween party for the kids. My boys were having a really hard time at the party because of crankiness and scary masks. They finally calmed down enough for us to make them pose for pictures. Aren't they the cutest Clone Troopers you ever saw?! And that's right, Chad and I are wearing our "Cutest Couple" shirts. =)

After the party we went over to Chad's cousins house to trick or treat. They have a little boy around the same age as our boys, so they had a whole lot of fun together.

The night before Halloween, my sister in law Nicole and I decided to have a go at baking treats for our family Halloween party. We made popcorn balls, creepy cookie cauldrons, and witch hat cupcakes. (can you tell which one David decorated?)
