Camping

We have been promising the boys a camping trip pretty much all summer. Well we have yet to make it happen. The one time we tried, weather stopped us. We still plan on going camping, but for now, this will have to do. Chad set up Davids little tent in the living room and the boys are camping out. I am shocked that Spencer actually stayed in there and didn't keep trying to escape. Especially since Chad and I were sitting on the couch, a few feet away from the tent, when they were going to sleep. We still have yet to know if Spencer will stay in there all night, or if he will try and wander into our room as usual. =)

This last one was taken through the screen at the top of the tent. (It took quite a few tries, but I finally got it)

Sleeping Spencer

I just love Spencers ability to fall asleep in the middle of playing. Luckily I have a couple of old crib mattresses that the boys love to play on. So when he passes out he is in a comfy place =)

He was drawing here and actually fell asleep with the pencil in his hand.

This picture was a little while ago, but just another cute one of him passing out randomly.

Mommy, David and Spencer night

Once a week the boys get to have a mommy and me night. On this night they get to stay up late with me, play games, watch movies, have special desserts and sleep in my bed. (Chad works late) And once a month on our night they get to have breakfast for dinner. These nights are their favorites cause they love to help me make pancakes or waffles. I love this special bonding time with them. It is so much fun planning what we are going to do together. They are very creative little boys! I am not sure how long we will carry this on for, but I hope they will want to have a special night with me, and with daddy too,(once he has a normal work schedule) for a long time to come. Up until recently it was just mommy and David nights. But since Spencer and David started sharing a room, it didn't seem fair to leave him out. He feels like such a big boy getting to stay up late with us. And we love having him share our weekly fun night with us! The bed does get a little crowded with both of them sleeping with me. Last week Spencer even decided to sleep right on top of David. (see picture below) It doesn't stay crowded for long though, Chad moves them back into their own beds when he comes home from work.

Little Photographer

A few weeks ago, Chad's parents took our boys to California for the weekend. They went to the beach and to Knotts Berry Farm. I know, lucky right? The boys get to have a good time on vacation, Grandma and Papa get quality time with their grandkids, and Chad and I get a few days to ourselves! Everyone wins! Anyway, before the trip I got David a portable camera so he could take his own pictures. He was SO EXCITED! So we just developed his pictures, and I think he did very well for his first time. And luckily he shared the camera so he could be in a few. Although he did take a couple self portraits, of course. (this is something he has done with any camera he could get his hands on since he was a baby)

Hotel room golf is a must for every trip! This can keep these boys entertained for hours!!

Kid Fitness

The boys new favorite show is Kid Fitness on PBS Kids. They look forward to 1:30 all day so they can watch this show. If we aren't going to be home, David wants us to Tivo it. This is a video of them dancing to one of the songs from the show. These guys really crack me up!

So Hot!!

It is so hot outside right now that it is hard to come up with fun, cheap/free things to do with our boys. And if you haven't noticed yet, we are always doing something =) So since it is so flippin hot, we decided to take the boys to the park at Mountains Edge and let them play in the water area. Chad and I really get a kick out of watching them run around and having a ball. We of course are in the shade, so it isn't so bad for us. Plus we just get slightly wet by default, just being around them.

There is a big grassy area with hills that we took the boys to play at after the water. It is hot enough that just with the running around for a few minutes, they were dry. But they weren't just running, they also decided to roll down the hill. This is the part that we had a hard time dragging them away from. They wanted to continue racing back and forth and rolling down hills. At least they burned off a whole lot of energy. =)

I am so blessed to have my little family! Chad is such an amazing husband and father. He keeps me sane and I love him so much! The boys are wonderful! They are so sweet, smart and funny. They fill my heart with so much joy. I really do consider myself very lucky!

The 4th!

We had a great 4th of July! It was a fun day full of family, food and fireworks! We all really enjoyed ourselves! I love watching the fireworks with the boys. They both love and hate them at the same time. They love the excitement of the fireworks, but have a certain fear for them also. Which is a good thing, cause I am not eager for them to want to play with explosives.
