The Geisha Steakhouse

David had his first Geisha Steakhouse experience last night. Chad's little brother Todd is leaving for BYU tomorrow so we all got together for dinner. We didn't think that Spencer was quite ready for this, so we left him with my mom. David, on the other hand, loved it! He really loved when the flames got really high and he loved watching the chef do all of his little cooking tricks. He wasn't a big fan of the food, but the show was worth it to him. He kept saying that it was his special day since he got to do this. The chef did a really good job! He even turned all of the rice into the shape of Mickey Mouse, just for David. =)

We are really going to miss you Todd! Have fun at school!!

Flamingos and Trains

On Monday we met my mom, my sister and her family down on the strip for a little touristing. The goal was to do stuff that was free, so we were a little limited on our options. We stopped at the Flamingo to see the little habitat that they have there. It was fun for the kids to see things like flamingos and water turtles. They even have a pool that is open to the public, complete with slides. We didn't swim, but with the heat outside, it was really tempting.

From the Flamingo we walked over to the Bellagio. They have a really cool conservatory that was all done up with trains. The kids LOVED watching the little trains going in and out of the bridges and tunnels. There is so much to look at in the conservatory, so if you have never been, I highly recommend it! It is so amazing what they do! The theme changes fairly often and it is always awesome!

My family went to the forum shops after this, but we called it a day. I wasn't feeling very well at this point and just wanted to get home. We did have a lot of fun though!

The kids love spending time with their cousins and I love spending time with my sister! We are sad that they had to go back to Texas. We miss you guys!!

The Bowling Brothers

My boys have found a new passion. They love bowling! Yesterday was my brother-in-law's graduation party at the Santa Fe Bowling Alley. David was very excited for this because he loves to play the bowling game on our Wii. But the bowling ball was slightly heavier than the Wii controller, so he had to do some between the leg bowling. And he was so cute doing it. He isn't the only one who now loves bowling, though. Spencer started having fun immediately! Papa helped him with his turns so he wouldn't hurt himself. But help or no help, he loved it! He kept saying, "my turn, mom". David has asked me about a dozen times now when we can go bowling again. He really wants to show his daddy how good a bowler he is. I foresee some trips to the bowling alley in our future. =)

He wouldn't move from this position until the ball hit the pins.

So nice of Papa to give up his turns to bowl with Spencer!

Here they are waiting so patiently for their next turn.

Golfers

I had plans last night to go to dinner and a movie with my mom, sister, and sister-in-law. Since I was going to be gone, Chad decided to take his boys golfing. We have been planning on doing this for weeks now, and I am a little sad that I missed it. David has always been a natural, but this was Spencer's first time. Lucky for me (and you), Chad took some pictures.

How handsome are these two little golfers?

Naturals.

There is natural golf talent on both sides of our family. My dad was an amazing golfer! It is in their blood, so these two are destined for greatness! =)

Busy, Busy, Busy

Yesterday was a really busy but fun day for us. We started out our day by going to David's last baseball game of the season. This was very bittersweet for me. I am really going to miss watching my little guy play baseball, but I am also really happy that we aren't going to running around as much as we have been. After the game each of the kids received little "medals". David is really proud of his and I am sure that he will be wearing it often. He is still really looking forward to getting a trophy at the team party next week.

Next we rushed home to change and took the kids to the Springs Preserve. This was our first time there and it was pretty cool. My mom gave us free passes, which made it even cooler. There really is a lot to do and see there. There is tons of hands on learning for the kids. We really only got to scratch the surface because there is so much to do. We will have to go back when we have more time to spend the day there. There is 8 acres of gardens that I still really want to see.

We had to rush home from the Springs Preserves to get David showered and dressed for graduation. That's right, we have a preschool graduate!! It was so cute watching the kids sing and recite scriptures. They all did such a good job and looked so cute doing it! He had a lot of family there supporting him and we were all so proud! After the graduation we met some family at Macayos to celebrate.

The whole day really wore us all out, but it was worth it. We had a great day!!
